Being a true pack-rat I don't even toss out old digital photos but they don't sit around gathering dust. Through photomanipulation I can take these images, that on first glance seem to have no subject or purpose, and transform them into backgrounds and pattern textures. For example, while my husband was adjusting his subjects in a food still life the camera accidentally shot a close up of the plastic table cloth he was using. When loading the pictures on the computer that shot caught his eye so he saved it for me. Through many layers of manipulation I changed it into just the sort of crackled paint background image I'd been searching for -- I use it as the main background on our home web site! Many such images have been treasured and manipulated here, but I have my favorites.
Now, thanks to Zazzle.com my desire to use these images has been answered through footwear. Zazzle has offered women's and kid's casual Ked's Shoes for some time but has finally added men's shoes -- including high tops! That excites me because the way my feet are I personally require a wider shoes so generally have to buy men's shoes and I can usually only wear high tops. For years I had to wear sports shoes with basketballs or Ninja Turtles characters because high tops weren't offered for women. Later when woman's shoes evolved they did so with more "girl power" than I care to express, not being a fan of wearing pink. So I have designed a group of Zazzle men's shoes FOR women (or effeminate guys too)!

Ordering at Zazzle is easy and shipping is fast! Converting the size you need from Women's to Men's or Boy's sizes can be tricky but if you do happen to order the wrong size Zazzle has NO problem with exchanges or returns -- it's been an easy-going company in my experience. In Women's sizes my tiny wide tootsies move into a size 5 or 6, always depending on the type of shoe. So in Boy's sizes I keep in mind that those same size numbers will be a little bigger in actual size and more wide than in Women's. A size 4 1/2 in Boy's should fit me then. The way the image design lays on the shoes does shift with size changes, so be sure to preview a design in your size to see just what the final result will be -- it is usually minor difference.

My Zazzle shoes can be customized to your choice too. When ordering, you can change the color of shoe strings and even change the trims! Perhaps you like a pattern but don't want black soles? Change them to white or tan then before check out. The zoom feature allows you to really see what a pattern is like before ordering. Everything I've ordered has looked as good or better than it does on the Zazzle site -- I love that! So I know that when I'm ordering, I am going to get what I see.
Putting together funky designs like this are a great way for an artist to take a break from painting and simply fun to do. I hope you enjoyed these new crazy creations!
These actually have the word "shit" in the image -- that's what was written on the dumpster! There's a matching skateboard too for the Alternative crowd. Fun stuff, good times.
